I met Joanna when she joined a co-ed softball team I was managing at Bell Laboratories.
We started dating and continued our relationship after she went back to Grad school at the University of Virginia. I still remember many late night drives to Charlottesville on Friday nights.
We got married after she graduated and had a son Thomas.
Thomas attended Rutgers Prep, then The Hotchkiss School for high school.
He did his undergraduate at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He went to work as employee #6 for a startup Hypnion.
After a few years he was accepted in a PhD program in neuroscience at the University of California at Davis.
He met his wife there and they were married in 2011. See Brooke and Tom.
His paper Learning Drives Differential Clustering of Axodendritic Contacts in the Barn Owl Auditory System | Journal of Neuroscience Documents the results of his PhD research.
On May 16, 2014 they lost their first son Louden Thomas Babineau-McBride, from a premature birth.
On November 23, 2019 Brooke and Tom had a son Arthur Joseph Babineau McBride.
