When I'm traveling I may be at my Son's home in the bay area, the Sierra Club's Clair Tappaan Lodge (CTL), our cabin, or camped out in some forest.
My mobile phone only works in a few of these places, so I try to forward this number to the best places to reach me, which could be a phone in the hallway at CTL, a land line at our cabin or my mobile phone.
When overseas I will forward it to my international number.

If I am camped out with a group that has a satellite phone you will have to check here or call my son (below) for emergency contact instructions. Sat calls are expensive and I won't forward to it.

The best place might be my verizon android tablet, where you need skype (see contact page) (google voice and google talk don't work on it.)

If it doesn't reach any phone it will allow you to leave a voice mail at google, which will send me an email message, however if I'm in a place that doesn't have WiFi that won't help.
If my mobile phone is turned on but I'm in a place where I can't pick it up it will go to my mobile voice mail.

Emergency Contact:
My son, Tom, is an emergency contact at:

Voice to Hangouts (Chat):
I usually bring my laptop with me when I travel so you can try the NJ google voice phone number [] which is forwarded to Google Hangouts on my laptop.
However, I have to be logged into gmail and be at my laptop for it to work.
