I am currently retired doing volunteer work and some part time work.

Work Summary
In May 2001 I retired from 35 years in Information Technology (IT). However I still remain involved in IT, maintaining my web site donsnotes.com, a Sierra Club Web site and a genealogy web site California Families. I also serve on the Board of the Amateur Computer Group of NJ (ACGNJ), and give talks on subjects like computers and genealogy.

Most of my experience (33 years) was in the telecommunications industry (most with the old Bell System), including Pacific Bell, Bell Laboratories, AT&T, Bellcore and Telcordia.

This included a variety of positions such as, software and network design, development and testing, project management, user needs assessment, information flow analysis, account executive, network management, internet security, computer aided software engineering, standards development, database design, system engineering, systems integration, proposal writing, outsourcing, system testing.

I have also given talks at seminars and served on National Standards Committees.

Education
BS degree in Math from UC Davis in 1966
MS degree in Management Science from Haas School at Cal in 1971.
